Description

Shaw Trust in partnership with the West Midlands Combined Authority and funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) is delivering the Find Your Future project in Birmingham/Solihull and the Black Country. The aim of the project is to equip unemployed and economically inactive adults with the skills and support they need to take up employment opportunities

 

You will work with a caseload of participants to support them to secure job opportunities in the final months of the contract.

Employment Coach (FTC until December 2023) 

As Employment Coach you will work in the local community with a caseload of participants to provide intensive employability support to help participants to overcome barriers and achieve realistic job goals. You will work as part of a team, collectively supporting participants to secure job opportunities, including understanding goals, creating action plans, carrying out proactive job search and signposting to local partner services.  

Additionally, you will undertake outreach activity within the local community, building relationships with local stakeholders and agencies to generate referrals and create collaborative working partnerships 

Essential Criteria  

  • A level 3 Employment Related Services/Information, Advice and Guidance qualification or equivalent experience  
  • Knowledge of and understanding of employment support services delivery
  • Experience of engaging with the client group and demonstrating an understanding of the barriers individuals may face in finding suitable work
  • Experience of providing high quality one-to-one support or coaching that is motivational and engaging
  • Experience in identifying individual’s motivators to enable them to take ownership of their goals and actions
  • Attention to detail in maintaining accurate and auditable records

Salary: £23,840 - £28,043 per annum
