ICT Teacher

We are currently recruiting for an ICT teacher to join our team at Feltham in London to teach accredited ICT programmes to our young people (learners).

As ICT teacher you will develop the curriculum in line with national requirements, local community needs, and the needs of the employment market. You will help develop young-centred teaching and learning strategies to contribute to learner achievement and progression. You will prepare and monitor appropriate syllabuses, schemes of work, lesson plans, assignments, assessments and learning outcomes in line with Shaw Trust and awarding body requirements.


You will have:

  • A Degree or equivalent professional qualifications, or extensive industrial experience in your specialist area
  • Possession of a teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent), or willingness to work towards a qualification
  • Experience of teaching accredited qualifications from your specialist area(s) from Entry Level to Level 3
  • Experience of working as a member of a team and evidence of the ability to work effectively with colleagues
  • An awareness of the pastoral and the academic needs of young people from a variety of backgrounds, and the ability to respond to those needs positively and sensitively

Working Hours

37.5 hours a week, Monday to Thursday 8am to 4.45pm, Friday 8am to 1.30pm.

Successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Our Services

Our Shaw Trust services at Feltham provide education to young people aged 15 to 18 who are on remand, convicted and sentenced.

Our education is funded by the Youth Justice Board and as part of our programme we deliver 27 hours of education to every young person and support each learner to increase their skill level in English and Maths and make progress in all subjects.

We have an experienced team of Learning Support Assistants (LSAs), Learning Support Tutors (LST) and ESS Workers in the department managed by a SENCO. The SENCO is part of the Senior Management Team and is also responsible for embedding the inclusion and SEN policy within all aspects of the department.

Each learner will have an individual learning plan which supports the learner to be an active and motivated partner in their learning journey.
