Description

“Shaw Trust promotes team spirit, inclusiveness and it is an organisation where everybody is somebody. I am proud to be part of this great organisation.”

At Shaw Trust we believe everyone has the right to live a decent and dignified life and an opportunity for rewarding work. We are a social purpose organisation challenging inequality and breaking down barriers to enable social mobility.

For us being part of the solution is about creating the conditions for this to happen, advocating and delivering services that make a real difference. Working in partnership not competition, we are part of an eco-system of purpose-led organisations, striving for a fairer, more equal society centred on opportunity for all.

Purpose

This role sits within Shaw Trust’s Impact and Innovation team. Its core function is to increase the impact of Shaw Trust’s services by identifying opportunities for improvement, building the evidence base for change, and supporting the implementation and evaluation of new approaches across the organisation.

The post holder will be a skilled mixed-methods researcher, equally comfortable interrogating quantitative datasets and conducting qualitative fieldwork with staff and participants. They will use this research capability to understand what is working within our services, what could work better, and what is practically achievable within existing delivery and contractual frameworks.

Where research identifies opportunities for programme redesign or new programme development, the post holder will liaise with the Senior Foundation Research and Development Manager, who holds responsibility for programme design. This role focuses on the underlying research, evidence, and evaluation that informs and supports those design decisions.

The post holder will also contribute to Shaw Trust’s external profile by turning internal evidence and insights into thought leadership, policy positions, and impact reporting that demonstrates our commitment to social value generation.
