Description

About Shaw Trust
We believe everyone deserves the chance to live well and access meaningful work. As a social purpose organisation, we challenge inequality and remove barriers so people can thrive.

About the Role
This apprenticeship is a great first step into an administration career. You’ll gain real on‑the‑job experience supporting our Individual Placement and Support (IPS) service and helping deliver the Connect to Work programme in Essex.

You’ll work closely with our team to keep things running smoothly, supporting colleagues, handling admin tasks, and helping ensure participants receive the best possible service.

To succeed, you’ll bring a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and great attention to detail. You’ll be adaptable, supportive, and ready to work with others to make a difference.

By joining us, you’ll build strong administrative and customer service skills while helping us achieve our mission: creating a society where everyone has the chance to work, belong, and live independently.

Essential:

We are looking for potential and a positive attitude, rather than prior experience, and a commitment to completing the apprenticeship studies.  We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Enthusiasm for learning new skills and developing through structured training.
  • The ability to follow instructions and ask for help when needed.
  • Good communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Basic IT literacy (e.g., email, word processing, spreadsheets) or the confidence to learn these skills.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to tasks and learning.
  • A commitment to always safeguarding and maintaining confidentiality.

Location:

This is predominantly a home-based role but will require regular travel to team meetings etc across Essex.
