Purpose

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Careers Advisor to join our team on a fixed-term contract covering a secondment opportunity until March 2026. This full-time role involves delivering high-quality careers information, advice, and guidance both in the community and across secondary schools in the borough of Havering.

The role focuses on supporting young people who are NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) or at risk of becoming NEET after Year 11, helping them to explore their options and progress into positive destinations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-to-one and group careers guidance sessions
  • Support young people with tailored progression planning
  • Work collaboratively with schools, community partners, and local services
  • Travel across Havering to provide in-school and community-based support

Essential Requirements:

  • A recognised qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) or equivalent (e.g. youth work, coaching)
  • Experience supporting young people with progression and transition
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Commitment to inclusive and impactful practice
