“Shaw Trust promotes team spirit, inclusiveness and it is an organisation where everybody is somebody. I am proud to be part of this great organisation.”
At Shaw Trust we believe everyone has the right to live a decent and dignified life and an opportunity for rewarding work. We are a social purpose organisation challenging inequality and breaking down barriers to enable social mobility.
For us being part of the solution is about creating the conditions for this to happen, advocating and delivering services that make a real difference. Working in partnership not competition, we are part of an eco-system of purpose-led organisations, striving for a fairer, more equal society centred on opportunity for all.
Purpose
We're looking for a motivated, curious and adaptable Project Officer to join our fast-paced Shaw Trust Foundation Team. This is a dynamic role where your support will be crucial across various areas of the Foundation's work, contributing directly to our portfolio of projects.
The Shaw Trust Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Shaw Trust, a charity focused on improving employment and wellbeing outcomes in the UK. We’re using our money in three ways:
- Trialling new solutions to help people into work: Our team works with our Shaw Trust experts and partners to design new ways of helping people. We use philanthropic money (donations, funding from our Board and from partners) to pay for these projects. Our trials aim to bring evidence of what works so that we can improve practice on a national scale.
- Conducting research to improve policy and practice: We conduct research to share lessons from the work across Shaw Trust– for example, our report Individual Placement and Support - Impact beyond jobs. We use this evidence to identify areas where we think we could have even more impact through the Foundation and to share what works.
- Giving grants and social investment: Our grants programme is community and issue based. We partner with those who are affected by an issue to decide where and how we should spend our money. We’re designing this process and learning from others. We’re also starting our social investment programme and are proud to join the Resolution Ventures Workertech Fund
This Foundation Project Officer role helps deliver this this exciting agenda, providing essential support across the Foundation team. While there will be a primary focus on support developing and coordinating our projects and grants, support from this role will be needed flexibly across the team as we grow and evolve.
