Job role: Deputy Home Manager

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Alvaston, Derby

Salary: £33,187 - £34,403 per annum plus on-call allowance

The Deputy Home Manager will work closely with the Home Manager to assist in the overall management and operation of the home. The role will include deputising for the Home Manager in their absence, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the home and ensuring quality and standards of care are upheld.  

The Deputy Home Manager must have experience of working with young people in a residential setting, we welcome experienced Senior Support Workers or Team Leaders who are looking for the next steps in their career as well as existing managers who are looking for a new role in a reputable company. 

What you’ll bring  

  • 2 years' experience working with young people in a Residential setting  
  • QCF Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification or equivalent (in line with Ofsted regulations) 
  • Ability to take increased levels of professional responsibility  
  • Understanding of compliance with legal and regulatory requirements of a children’s home  
  • Capabilities to identify own and others professional, care and training needs  
  • Resilience to be able to deal with challenging situations 
  • Positive role model – honesty and empathy are a must 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Capabilities to review and implement young person’s care plans and risk assessments 
  • Ability to form effective relationships with young people, their families (if appropriate) and external agencies 
  • Willing to work towards Diploma Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification with the view to become a Registered Manager in the future
