Are you passionate about making a real impact in young people’s lives? Do you thrive on creating a safe, nurturing environment for those who need it most? We’re looking for dedicated Waking Night Support Workers to join our Homes & Horizons project, where your compassion can change the trajectory of a young person's life.

Why Join Us?

Homes2Inspire is more than just a job. It’s a mission to empower vulnerable young people, offering them not just a place to stay, but a home filled with support, understanding, and new beginnings. As part of Shaw Trust, we are proud to be the only Top 10 Ofsted-rated residential childcare provider that’s charity-owned. Our focus is on transforming lives and giving every child the chance to flourish.

What is Homes & Horizons?

Homes & Horizons is a unique collaboration with Somerset Council, providing tailored support to young people who’ve experienced trauma, instability, or loss. We offer smaller, family-like homes where dedicated staff work to rebuild trust and help children rediscover hope.

The Role:

- Ensure the children feel safe, secure, and supported during night time hours.

- Provide a listening ear and reassurance for children who may wake up feeling anxious or unsettled.

- Help with bedtime preparation and morning wake-ups, creating a comforting routine.

- Conduct regular safety checks to maintain a secure environment throughout the night.

- Thoughtfully document each child’s experiences to support their growth and wellbeing.

What We’re Looking For?

While experience in childcare is a bonus, it's your empathy, patience, and willingness to learn that we value most. You'll be trained to handle trauma-informed care, equipping you with the skills to truly make a difference.

Key Qualities:

- Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for helping young people thrive

- The ability to remain calm and collected during challenging situations

- A team player who is willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Why This Job Matters?

The children in our care have faced more challenges than many will experience in a lifetime. As a Waking Night Support Worker, you’ll provide them with stability, safety, and hope for the future. Your presence could be the turning point that helps them heal and grow.
