Homes2inspire have immediate full time, permanent opportunities for Senior Support Workers to join our children’s residential homes in Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire. You will be responsible for leading, supervising and guiding a staff team whilst on shift
As the Senior Support Worker, you will work alongside a dedicated staff team who provide advice, support, care, and stability for our young people, ensuring they are treated equally, whilst promoting positive role-modelling behaviour.

Not only will you be working for the largest, charitably owned residential children’s home provider in the UK, we will offer extensive training, along with the opportunity to complete funded Residential Childcare qualifications as well as long term career development within the company.

Experience / Qualifications:
- A minimum of 12 months experience working in children’s residential setting
- Ideally hold QCF Level 3 Residential Childcare (or equivalent) or ideally studying towards
- Previous experience of leading a staff team
- Strong communication skills as well as the ability to handle challenging situations with compassion and patience.

Hours of Work:
- Flexibility to work long days, evenings, weekends or sleep ins as required to fulfil the needs of the job.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of Support Workers and help build a brighter future for our young people by offering stability, guidance, and pathways to becoming well-rounded adults
- Demonstrate the value of education, care, and development
- Build and create mutual trust and respect with young people in order that they respond and react appropriately to information and instructions.
- Define structures and boundaries of behaviour to young people, acting as a positive role model, so they understand behaviour expected.
- Produce, maintain, and distribute house paperwork to ensure relevant information is recorded accurately and is available.
- Support and analyse behaviours to avoid incidents and maximise positive behaviours.
- Create and produce activities to occupy and develop in order to gain skills and education on an informed basis.
- Coach, support, and develop a team, ensuring their performance and potential is maximised to meet contractual and company requirements.
- Provide basic advice and skills to support with managing finances and other everyday life skills.
