Purpose

The Director of Business Development will lead the Business Development strategy which includes Public Sector tendering and Business-to-Business (B2B) sales growth.

The position will have two main areas of focus:

  • Generating planned growth from National and Local Government via public sector tendering and procurement
  • Sales growth of our commercial offer to businesses while ensuring their needs as employers are at the very heart of our service proposition.

The position will directly manage the Bid Management Team to ensure high quality bids, tenders and proposals are developed and submitted in line with business growth targets.

The position will also oversee the National Accounts Team and take a leadership role in the development of Business to Business / commercial sales. Working closely with operational teams to engage with businesses to maximise the growth of commercial sales.

Essential:

You will have:

  • Education to degree level and/or significant experience within a relevant field
  • Demonstrable evidence of Continuing Professional Development
  • Extensive director level management experience in a large third sector or commercial operating environment with P&L and business budgeting responsibilities
  • Significant experience of commercial sales in one or more of Shaw Trusts service delivery fields
  • Demonstrable organisational design and development experience and experience of driving continuous improvement through a business or business unit
