Location: Cheddar, Somerset

Salary: £46,800 - £52,000 per annum plus £10,000 performance related bonus

Are you a dedicated and passionate leader with a commitment to making a positive impact on young lives? Homes 2 Inspire Ltd is looking for a Children’s Home Manager to join our team and lead our therapeutic, trauma-informed children’s home to new heights of success.

The Project:

Homes and Horizons is an innovative partnership involving Somerset Council, Homes2Inspire, and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, aiming to provide comprehensive care for vulnerable children. This 10-year initiative includes the establishment of 10 residential homes, specialised foster care, and therapeutic education services. Focused on individualised support, the project integrates feedback from children with care experience. Currently, five homes are operational (all graded Good with Ofsted), with schools planned to open in 2024. Recognized for its ground-breaking approach, Homes and Horizons recently won a Municipal Journal Award.

Our home, which can accommodate up to three children, is dedicated to delivering high-quality care and fostering positive, trusting relationships between staff and children. We believe in helping children feel safe, loved, and supported, enabling them to thrive and achieve their potential.

The Home:

This home is currently rated ‘Good’ with Ofsted and the recent report notes; “The home can accommodate up to three children with social and emotional difficulties. The children feel a strong sense of belonging and trust, with marked progress in their personal development and safety. The home environment is clean and well-maintained, fostering a relaxed and nurturing atmosphere for the children The children feel that they belong here, and they can trust the adults who are caring for them. The good progress that they have made is a direct result of the hard work and commitment that this manager and staff have shown to the children”

The Role:

As the Children’s Home Manager, you will:

- Lead a dedicated team of staff to provide consistent, high-quality care.

- Ensure the home operates smoothly, maintaining a warm, homely environment.

- Support children in their education and future planning, helping them to develop independence and healthy lifestyles.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with social workers, professionals, and family members to create a robust support network around each child.

- Implement effective risk management and safeguarding practices to ensure the safety and well-being of all children.

- Foster a culture of continuous improvement through regular staff development and reflective practice.

Requirements:

- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.

- Experience in a similar role.

- A deep understanding of safeguarding and risk management practices.

- The ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and external stakeholders.

- Relevant qualifications in social care or a related field.

- Knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations.
