Purpose

The Retail Volunteer Manager at Shaw Trust plays a critical role in driving the recruitment, training, engagement, and coordination of volunteers across our charity retail estate. This home-based, peripatetic position requires travel to various locations to ensure effective volunteer support and engagement. The role focuses on building a strong volunteer workforce that aligns with the charity's values and goals, fostering a positive and inclusive environment, and making a tangible impact on the community through volunteer contributions. The ideal candidate will leverage their communication skills, leadership abilities, and passion for community service to enhance the volunteer experience and support Shaw Trust’s mission.

Essential:

You will have:

  • Proven experience in volunteer management, preferably within the non-profit sector or retail environment
  • Experience navigating web-based social media platforms for recruiting volunteers
  • Experience of community-based initiatives
  • Experience in dealing with and influencing a wide range of people
  • Highly organised professional with evidence of developing relationships with stakeholders
