Business Advisor

We are expanding our Information, Advice and Guidance services for young people in London with our ‘Spark Change’ programme, funded by Greater London Authority (GLA) and European Structural and Investment Fund (ESIF).

As Business Advisor will work with young people who are exploring starting their own business and becoming self-employed, supporting them to develop business ideas, and identify and overcome barriers. You will build and maintain a network of external partners who can provide additional support to young people to help them to achieve their business goals.

This is a part time role working 2.5 days per week.

Essential:

  • You will a level 4 qualification in Guidance or Advice and Guidance, Employability or an equivalent qualification relating to working with young people and supporting them to progress (life coach, mentor, Youth worker etc)
  • Experience of developing effective relationships with a range of stakeholders including young people, employers, and colleagues
  • Experience, understanding and empathy with the lives of young people
  • Proven track of working to targets, and achieving within payment by results programmes
  • The ability to inspire young people; persuade and influence accordingly

Occasionally you may be required to work during the evening or on a Saturday, for example if a young person’s event is taking place during an evening or on a Saturday. In this instance you will be able to take time back in lieu of hours worked.

Location:

Hybrid working with a mix of office, home and community working. Our service will cover the London Boroughs of Bexley, Brent, Hackney, Harrow, and Havering.

Salary: starting at £27,322.00 pro rata 

Successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
