Description

As a Careers Planner you will provide expert and high-quality career guidance to young people, following the Gatsby benchmarks and providing re-engagement and progression support young people in Bexley who are at risk of being not in education, employment or training (NEET) and/or are vulnerable.  

You will provide advice, guidance and information to young people on areas including learning, apprenticeships and training, and personal development opportunities, including how they can access opportunities. You will provide Information, Advice and Guidance commissioned services in schools.  

You will help to develop resources and engagement activities around the Bexley and South East London area for post 16 opportunities suitable to deliver virtually as well as face to face dependent on the needs of the young person and education institution.

You must have one of the following:

  • level 4 or level 6 qualification in Guidance or Advice and Guidance
  • level 4 qualification in Employability
  • level 4 or equivalent qualification relating to working with young people and supporting them to progress (life coach, mentor etc)

Additionally you will have:

  • Experience of liaising with stakeholders and of working in educational institutions to identify young people who are at risk of or NEET and to target support to ensure they move into Education, Employment or Training
  • Experience of working with young people in formal or informal settings
  • The ability to develop productive professional relationships with young people with multiple barriers with the persistence and resilience to support progression of those young people
