The Chief Of Staff will support our Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team in coordinating and contributing to the strategic leadership of the organisation.

The COS will be responsible for the running of the Chief Executive Office and associated staff and will be the cross-Group functional bridge between senior and middle management.  You will attend key management and governance meetings, contributing to debate and act as a conduit with the wider business, reporting, supporting and where necessary leading on projects and programs and act as the link to the CE.

Shaw Trust operates on a national level with over 2,000 staff and 1,000 volunteers.  We work with the government, local authorities, combined authorities, employers, stakeholders – including the Education and Skills Funding Agency, Department for Work and Pensions, clinical commissioning groups and NHS Trusts.

The Person

The ideal candidate will be pro-active with exceptional analytical skills and keen eye for detail. As a strong influencer you will have proven ability to engage successfully with senior stakeholders and to navigate within varying degrees of ambiguity in a fast-paced environment. You will have a demonstrated ability to organise, coordinate, and direct multiple activities with varied deadlines.

You will maintain the very highest standards of professionalism and discretion, demonstrating the highest standards of integrity and empathy and have the confidence to act on urgent issues when necessary.

You must be collaborative, with the ability to build strong and sustainable relationships at all levels of the organisation.

You will be expected to work flexibly and be able to vary working hours accordingly. You will be able to think both analytically and creatively, handle complexity and empower and support people.

Shaw Trust is committed to a policy of equality of opportunity and inclusion. We are Disability Confident Leaders, support the guaranteed interview scheme and use of the government’s Access to Work scheme. Living our values we are keen to reflect the diversity of UK society at every level within our organisation. We welcome applications from all sections of the community including from people with lived-experience and/or knowledge of disability or social exclusion.
