Van delivery drivers wanted to work in our Store Logistics Coordinator role

Locations: Hampshire and Oxfordshire

Do you want to work for a national charity which is working to create brighter futures for the people and communities we serve? We are starting up a new in house delivery and collection service to give everyone who wants to support our charity the best possible service. That will mean our brand will be out on the road and in the public eye - so it is vital you drive in a safe, responsible way and deliver with a friendly smile and helpful attitude. You will be the ‘face of the charity’, providing a vital service to the community. The people you meet on our behalf will be expecting the same warm and helpful service that they receive in our shops, taking the time to help the less able and building up a relationship with the charity. They will also expect you to arrive when you say you will, so you will work to tight deadlines to ensure all you always arrive on time.

Being the best in class…. We want our Store Logistics Co-ordinators to provide an absolutely premium service and stand out from the crowd, so that after meeting you our supporters will want to engage with us again and again. So we will always expect you to:

  • Deliver great service, whether you are driving, meeting our corporate partners or collecting stock from our supporters
  • Planning and organising delivery routes, driving safely and responsibly
  • Keeping the customer up to date by phoning ahead if you are running late to apologise and let the customer know when you will be there
  • Being friendly and helpful from the moment you arrive
  • Following the correct procedures with every delivery – ensuring safety and great service
  • Not just keeping your vehicle clean but also tidy and well cared for. Keeping your vehicle refuelled, maintained and operational, ready for the next run
  • Making sure you carefully carry out all checks and procedures

There is no such thing as great service without high personal standards, so you will need to be well presented, a great ‘people person’, committed to giving our customers great service every day. You must have held a full driving licence for at least 3 years, and have the ability to drive a van. You must also have no more than 3 points on your licence.

You will need to be able to drive in to London approximately twice a month and to our central recycling centre in Doncaster once a month.

Our mission is to deliver services for people at disadvantage so they can gain life and employability skills in order to live more independently, secure sustainable employment and actively contribute to family and community life.   We seek to educate and influence society to remove barriers and create opportunities for those at disadvantage. We also help to build supportive communities for a more inclusive society. Our shops and store logistics coordinators are our local ambassadors of our brand and we therefore expect that our drivers are professional, responsible and deliver outstanding customer service.

All offers of employment will be conditional upon a completed satisfactory Basic Safeguarding Check.
