Description

A highly ethical, and child centred fostering agency are looking for a Supervising Social Worker to support a small but stable foster carer group across the whole of Yorkshire region. This is a full-time role and there is flexibility for some home working.

Fostering to Inspire is set within the legal entity of Homes2Inspire Ltd owned by the wider charitable organisation, The Shaw Trust. Fostering to Inspire is one of Fostering Networks Mockingbird Practice partners to deliver the Mockingbird Family model within its service delivery.

They are a small but growing team who are passionate about outcomes for children and young people.

Brief overview of role and responsibilities:

  • To provide support and supervision to a small caseload of foster carers. 
  • To work closely with any agencies and all staff to match children to families.
  • To recruit assess and provide training to foster carers.
  • To attend and produce reports for fostering panel meetings as necessary.
  • To carry out an annual review of foster families.
  • To support and attend foster carer reflective practice groups as needed.
  • To act, if required, as a member of Fostering panel. 
  • To contribute to the promotion, development and provision of Fostering to Inspire’s fostering service and the development of Mockingbird Family Model constellations.
  • Be willing to work flexibly including evening and weekend work, when required, within the Out of Hours rota system or in emergencies.

 

You will be: 

  • A qualified social worker
  • SWE registered
  • Experience of working within fostering social work / an IFA (ideal not essential)
  • An interest in / experience of working with the Mockingbird Model /Parent and Child fostering would be an advantage
  • A car owner / driver
  • Be prepared to travel across the West/South/North Yorkshire region

The role attracts a salary of up to £33000 (experience dependent)
