Description

Shaw Trust’s Strategic Directive sets out bold ambitions to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2030, and advance social justice through social value adding programmes with the aim of maximising social value and return on social investment. The Social Value and Sustainability Lead is a new role to the business which will help the business to achieve its aims. 

The Social Value and Sustainability Lead is part of the Shaw Trust Foundation team, and will support the business to understand, implement and embed best practice in the inclusion of social, environmental and economic value, measuring and reporting on progress, making and enabling the delivery of recommendations.

This is a home-based role, however there may be occasions when travel within the UK is required, therefore flexibility for occasional travel is required.

Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is inquisitive and proactive, who can delve into the detail and recommend practical and suitable ideas and solutions to support the business in its social value and sustainability ambitions.

You will have experience of environmental management and monitoring, and of implementing best practice in social value. You’ll be a strategic thinker, with an analytical and commercial mindset, with sound experience of preparing and presenting ideas. 

This role reports to the Director of the Shaw Trust Foundation.
