Key Purpose of Post

·        Can you deliver practical digital accessibility assessments as well as consultancy on a range of platforms?

·        Inclusion is at the heart of our service and we are looking for a skilled Technical Specialist (Digital Accessibility) to help make this a reality.

Due to our continued success we're looking to expand our team! We value talented people with a passion to transform peoples’ lives. In return the role offers the opportunity to work with a client base comprising of FTSE 100 companies, public and third sector organisations.

Shaw Trust Accessibility Services is a social enterprise supporting organisations to become digitally inclusive across a range of digital platforms.

Over the past 18 months we have gone from strength to strength, solidifying our products and services and we now need more technical expertise to deliver the high quality service our customers expect.

You will work with customers from design stage through to product creation and launch providing technical support and consultancy.

Working alongside our accessibility assessors, technical team and technical manager, you will ensure feedback provides the customer with an opportunity to achieve inclusion and accreditation.

Working closely with the Technical Manager (Digital Accessibility), the successful applicant will pro-actively contribute to and deliver digital accessibility assessments and consultancy on a range of platforms. This includes (but not limited to) websites, mobile apps, wireframe designs, graphic designs and software, by completing code reviews and analysing both automated and manual testing.

The successful applicant will need to have excellent technical skills in UX, HTML, CSS, ARIA, WCAG, as well as a good knowledge of JavaScript. Up-to-date knowledge of assistive technologies and digital accessibility is essential.

Preferably being educated to degree level, we are looking for someone with an ICT based qualification such as web design, design and development, usability, human computer interaction or UX design.

A flexible solution focussed approach, combined with the ability to meet deadlines to deliver first class consultancy are pre-requisites for this role.

Ideally based in Neath, however, we welcome applicants from further afield, with a base in Bristol who are willing to travel regularly to have a physical presence with the team.
