Health and Wellbeing Trainer- WHP

We have a full-time opportunity for a Health and Wellbeing Trainer to join us and help to grow a new service.

The Trainer will deliver face to face training at the Hub in Leicester 2 days per week, and the remainder of the week will be homebased to deliver virtual training session. We anticipate that there will be opportunities to deliver training in other areas, should you wish to develop further within Shaw Trust.

About the Work & Health Programme

The Work and Health Programme supports participants to find and sustain employment, and for most participants, the programme is voluntary. Participants can be on the programme for up to a maximum of 21 months. 

Purpose of the role

To deliver innovative, engaging, inclusive health and wellbeing workshops that support mental health and wellbeing recovery; achieved through re-building participant confidence, self- esteem, motivation, and self-efficacy following unemployment.

Health and Wellbeing Trainers will deliver high quality sessions including, but not limited to; Managing Anxiety, Stress Management, Coping with Life, Coping with Loss, Managing Mood, Sleep & Routine and Best Version of You. Workshops will involve evidence based self- management techniques, created for delivery by our in-house clinical team, along with supporting tools and resources that will support the re-entry of employment.

You will have a background in training or coaching in a health and wellbeing/mental health setting and hold a relevant level 4 qualification, and be able to deliver high quality and engaging training within a classroom setting and virtually. You will continuously strive to support in the development of the Health and Wellbeing training in a way that contributes to the Shaw Trust Growth Strategy. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Engage with Work & Health Programme Support Managers and provide information about the training, support them to promote the training, and ensure they are aware of administrative and booking process
  • Keep up to date with research and innovatively integrate wellness theory to learning initiatives
  • Help participants identify how their behaviours may be affecting their health and wellbeing
  • Support participants to commit to changes that improve their health and wellbeing by sharing evidence-based resources, tools and techniques
  • Collate, examine and review feedback and share findings and recommendations with internal/ external stakeholders
